Task description

In the second call (Call for Art-Driven Experiments), the project aims to identify 10 experiments known as Paths to Progress (PPE) experiments. These experiments involve collaboration between art, science, and industry, with one industrial end-user partnering with a core group of Hungry EcoCities organizations and a selected artist. Together, they will work towards reaching the prototyping stage within the project resources and specified timeframe, addressing challenges in a concrete test site provided by the end-user (e.g., supermarket, bio farm, community garden, production facility, restaurant).

The first phase of the second open call, the End-User call, aimed to select up to 10 End-Users (SMEs, including start-ups in the agri-food value chain). The selected End-Users will join a 14-month S+T+ARTS support programme.

The second phase of the Call for Art-Driven Experiments (2nd Open Call for Artists) is a separate application process for selecting artists. Artists with experience or relevant projects in technology, art, science, and the food domain are invited to apply. Pre-selected artists will team up with an SME to prepare artistic prototyping proposals for collaboration in the support programme. The final team, composed of one artist and one SME End-User, will collaborate for 8 months in Stages 2 and 3 of the programme.
